Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College, organized an Orientation Program for Class XI students and their parents on 18th July, 2026 for the Science, Commerce and Arts stream. The event took place in the college auditorium and was conducted in three sessions on the same day.
The program began with a warm welcome to the parents, followed by the traditional Lamp Lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana. To set the tone for the event, a brief introduction of the institution was given.
The program was graced by the esteemed member of the Management Dr. Narayan Hegde Vice President, Kannada Sangha.
Principal Mrs. Shobha Channal addressed the gathering and provided guidance to students and ensured them a smooth transition from school. She also gave a detailed overview of the functioning of the college, the exams and assessment pattern followed at the college. Parents were informed about the college’s achievements and milestones and the various extracurricular activities conducted throughout the year.
This was followed by Dr. Narayan Hegde’s speech. In his address, Dr. Hegde advised the students to uphold good values, embrace spirituality and become responsible citizens and compassionate human beings. He encouraged them to lead disciplined and ethical lives while contributing positively to society.
From the centralized admissions the toppers from Science, Commerce and Arts stream were called on stage with their parents and felicitated by giving small token of love.
The PTA members expressed their gratitude towards the college. They emphasized the college’s commitment to the holistic development of the students. PTA forms were distributed and parents who wish to join the PTA were requested to join the WhatsApp group.
The college counsellor emphasized the importance of mental health and encouraged parents and students to use counselling as a tool for unlocking their true potential.
The primary aim of the program was to familiarize both students and parents with the curriculum, rules, regulations, and various activities planned for the upcoming academic year. The presentations were given by Std XII students about the unique programs and initiatives in the college, such as the Gifted Nurturing Program, Kalam Centre, Swayam (Life School), Astitva (The Eco Club), Rhythm and Roots (The Cultural Club), Kishor Sabha and the new initiative at KSJC- Abhivyapti (Community outreach). The students were appealed to join the activity of their choice through the QR Codes which were made available at the College stilt.
The principal, then introduced the Stream In-charges, department heads, and non-teaching staff to the parents and students.
Overall the program was a great success.
