Our department aims to ensure that our students have a strong conceptual base in physics as it is an essential subject if one wishes to take up engineering, medicine or the pure sciences. We enhance our classroom teaching with lab activities to bridge the gap between abstract concepts and practical application. The classroom and lab learning complement each other. Students learn data analysing and use logical thinking to solve numerical problems in the class room whereas practical approaches, recording observations and drawing conclusions are skills taught in the lab. Guest lectures, quiz competitions, demonstration of physics behind daily phenomenon for easy comprehension and practical application of various laws including model making are some of our efficient teaching methods. We also conduct visits to institutions like IUCCA, GMRT, Planetarium for observational learning. We develop logical thinking abilities, practical skills and instil a scientific approach in our students along with time management skills.

Our aim is to develop essential skills such as practical application of theory, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills along with a scientific approach in our students to prepare them to face the challenges in their career and life. We prepare our students for a rewarding career in computers and electronic engineering by ensuring that they gain both an insight and practical experience to strengthen the foundation that is essential to build a career in Computer Engineering and Electronic Engineering. These basics include HTML and web page design, C++, 8085 microprocessor and executing assembly language programs using 8085 kit and in digital electronics and semi-conductor theory.

Electronics is a new subject for our Std. XI students. It is essential to ensure that our students have a strong foundation and conceptual knowledge in it as it is a technical subject. Our aim is to ensure that our students gain through knowledge regarding the practical use of every component and develop designing, strategic planning and evaluating skills. Our methods and activities are interactive, aimed at actively involving our students in the subject. These include interclass quiz competitions, project exhibition, seminars. We encourage our students to design circuits using their own ideas, logic and creativity. Dedication and patience are other qualities we attempt to inculcate in our students. We also organize Industrial visits to introduce our students to industrial culture and practical applications.

Our objective is to help our students overcome the fear of mathematics. Students often find mathematics a complex and mind-boggling subject which they try to avoid. We try to reintroduce maths to our students in a fun, interactive manner to help them grasp fundamental concepts as well as to develop clear thinking and problem-solving skills. We also enhance their ability to handle abstractions and understand structures and relationships. Our teaching methods include learner centric methods like power point presentations, charts, models, puzzles as well as challenging and interesting study material for students of all aptitudes.

Our objective is to generate a keen interest in the basic concepts of IT and application software. With us, students will learn various computer languages like VB (visual basic), HTML, JavaScript, ASP using VBScript along with database management system in connection to ASP. We emphasize on observational learning and use practical demonstrations as self-explanatory tools which help the students to actually see a working model of an application. While developing software application, we cover both ‘front’ and ‘back’ ends in a span of two years. We thoroughly prepare the students for the online board exam through regular practice during practicals, theory classes and competitions.

Communication is an essential and inescapable part of both academics and professional life. Clarity, efficiency and a strong vocabulary are the tools with which one can create a strong, positive and lasting impression of themselves. Our language department uses student centric, interactive teaching methods to add life to the classroom. These methods include power point presentations, essay writing, quizzes, poetry competitions, projects. We conduct activities such as group discussions, and debates to cultivate and enhance communication and inter-personal skills. A good communication ability in a all languages boost the thinking process as well as open up innumerable avenues in various fields. We offer Marathi or German as a second language.

A multilingual ability is definitely a competitive edge in today’s world. German language learning helps develop strong cognitive skills, such as a better concept formation, mental flexibility, multitasking, listening skills, in addition to improving social interaction and encouraging connection between peers. In our college we emphasis on the 4 fundamental skills of language learning i.e. reading, writing, listening and speaking. We do it through audio - visual aids like PowerPoint presentation, films, audio clips, role plays etc.

Our objective is to introduce our students to the vast areas in environmental study. We aim to inculcate an understanding of the social, ecological and economic dimensions of human development which will help students comprehend the increasing issues related to the current patterns of development. Raising awareness and contributing to the cause of sustainable development in global and local context and the role of society in finding solutions to various problems is another important goal of this course. Our students will learn through interactive methods such discussions on local issues, debates, lectures, projects as well as through nature walks, audio visual presentations, photographs, educational aids made by NGOs, poster etc. These activities and discussions will enable our students to be more aware, insightful and sensitive individuals.

While academic excellence has been the main goal of our educational efforts, for the last 15 years, the participation and performance in sports has also received due and minute attention of the authorities of the college. Our well-equipped gymnasium and the gymkhana facilitate students in their practice. Our college encourages students to participate in various sport events. Our students perform well in International, National, State and district level sport events. Along with the popular games, students are encouraged to participate in other sports as well. Our students also participate in invitational tournaments.

All expenses towards the participation in tournaments is borne by the Institute.

Mrs. Smita Pradhan has done her Master's in Clinical Psychology and is currently working as a Senior Counsellor for the Junior College for the past 10 years. Smita has dealt with innumerable young adult behavioural and academic issues. Her warm presence makes it easy for students to approach her for their problems. She has been currently practicing Cognitive Behavior Therapy with her students and has found many who benefited from the same. She is multitalented and comperes events and organizes several career fests for Junior College students. She works closely with teachers as mentors for gifted programs and assists in several college activities.
