Class Assembly Report – Grade 10
Theme: SDG 2 – Zero Hunger
The Grade 10 class assembly, centered around Sustainable Development Goal 2 – Zero Hunger, was a compelling and thought-provoking presentation that left a lasting impact on all those who attended. The assembly was meticulously woven to highlight the pressing issue of hunger, the paradox of food wastage, and the need for sustainable solutions.
The assembly commenced with a powerful skit that brought to light the careless food wastage by individuals and communities. The act sensitively portrayed how food that could nourish many often ends up in the trash due to human negligence. This was followed by a critical segment on soil degradation and the overuse of chemical fertilizers, emphasizing the long-term harm inflicted on our planet due to short-sighted agricultural practices.
A unique and impactful panel discussion was presented in the form of a journalist-executive-policy maker interaction. Through this format, students questioned existing government policies and brought out the challenges and loopholes in the current system. The issue of corruption in the Public Distribution System (PDS) was boldly addressed, demonstrating the students’ awareness and courage to voice systemic flaws.
The most innovative segment of the assembly was the Shark Tank-style presentation, where student entrepreneurs showcased their tech-driven solutions to tackle hunger. They designed mobile applications that aimed to bridge the gap between food producers, traders, and the underprivileged—offering practical and scalable solutions for better food distribution and accessibility.
Throughout the presentation, the students emphasized that hunger is not just a matter of food availability but of fair distribution, accountability, and awareness. Their efforts, guided by dedicated mentoring from teachers, clearly reflected deep research, collaboration, and empathy.
The assembly was not only informative but also a call to action, reminding everyone that Zero Hunger is achievable only when communities come together with responsibility and innovation.
