KHSG celebrated three years of fruitful partnership with the Read a Story Initiative, which aims to improve reading and spoken English in underserved regions of India. This program strives to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children in rural India.
Our student volunteers who are proficient in English and who have the urge to help a child to learn English, participate in the program. They dedicate an hour each week to calling their students from the tribal regions of Maharashtra to teach them English reading and speaking skills. This collaboration has been a catalyst for positive change, not only for the underprivileged children whose lives have been enriched through enhanced literacy skills but also for our student volunteers. Through their involvement, our students have embraced values such as empathy, equity and patience, gaining invaluable experiences that will shape them into compassionate and responsible individuals.
At KHSG, we strongly believe in the power of gratitude. We are committed to foster an environment where gratitude is not just encouraged but celebrated.
On the accomplishment of this wonderful ongoing journey, our students expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the program and shared their experiences through various innovative forms such as Street Play, Vlog, Podcast, Poem, Speech and Rap songs. The program was attended by the RAS coordinators Gauri Mehendale and Pallavi Paranjape.
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue this dynamic collaboration and embark on this journey of celebration, unity, and inspiration.
