Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School – Secondary School held the elections on 20th April 2023, by following the principles of Sociocracy.

In the first stage, a list of posts were displayed on the school bulletin boards. Next, the students suggested names of co-students that they deemed appropriate for a particular post based on attributes such as – confidence, good communication skills, decision making abilities and overall leadership qualities. A total of 88 students were shortlisted for contesting elections. Then the computer department designed a unique voters ID number using which a huge number of students voted for the candidates of their choice, for different posts, anonymously.

The PE department along with our cultural head Mrs. Smita Vanarase madam, were instrumental in the process of campaigning held before the actual election process under the able guidance of our senior teachers. Furthermore, on the day of elections the Computer department did a commendable job with smooth and error free online election process.

At last we had our 40 elected student council members that included Traffic management committee for the year 2023-24.
These 40 elected members were handed over with their duly earned badges from our Principal and other senior teachers during Investiture ceremony held on 27th April 2023.
