Students of KHSG participated in yet another enriching project initiated by N+ One, an NGO, named Read- A -Story.
This project was a month-long program, where our students helped the students located in the remote areas of Maharashtra to read and speak English.
60 students from KHSG volunteered to participate in this project. The NGO helped connect the student mentors and the Mentees for a 1:1 interactive session on phone that was held once a week for 30 to 45 minutes.
These sessions not only helped the mentees to read and speak English with proper pronunciation but also taught our students, the mentors, to empathize.
As rightly said by Dr. APJ Kalam that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Certainly, Read -A- Story Project played an instrumental role in not only shaping the personalities of the Mentors but also benefitted the Mentees by helping them speak in English confidently.
After the Read –A – Story project consummated, student mentors of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School – Secondary Section were eager to share their experiences with Principal Mrs. Pallavi Naik and Mrs. Anjali Desai, Coordinator of Read- A Story.
This sharing of experiences was held in the school auditorium on 25th July. Students of KHSG exhibited their creative side in expressing their emotions and connections with the Read- A- Story project.
Students thoughtfully chose to present their feelings through various forms like Animation, Power Point Presentation, Poems and Skit. Undoubtedly, they showcased exemplary performances that were lauded by the dignitaries and teachers.
The student mentors have shown keen interest in enrolling for the next session of Read- A- Story scheduled to begin from 15th August.
