Hunar Haat

In a celebration of art, creativity and innovation, the students of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School gathered at the Hunar Haat Exhibition held on 30th October 2023 in the school premises. This grand event provided a platform for young talents to display their projects, art, and creative endeavours, leaving visitors awe-inspired and proud of our young budding talent.

 

The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Sujata Dharap, a well-known Painter, Muralist and Director of Creative Club Studio. Mr. Kushal Hegde President, Kannada Sangha, Mrs. Indira Salian Vice President and Mrs. Malati Kalmadi Secretary Kannada Sangha also graced the occasion.

 

At the Hunar Haat, visitors were treated to a visual feast as they explored the mesmerizing artwork created by students. From intricate paintings like Coffee painting, Abstract art Illusion, 2D design, folk painting, still life, digital art, portraits, Sketches, Lipan art, Decoupage, Diyas, paper cutting, Block. Printing, Paper plate painting, Mahatma project to stunning art pieces, the creativity and skill displayed by these young artists was truly remarkable. This journey turned out incredibly well by the efforts, dedication, guidance and the hard work put up by the Art teachers including Bhimsen Mahagaokar, Snehalata Siddhapatki and Madhura Deshpande.

 

The exhibition also displayed a wide array of innovative projects, highlighting the students’ problem-solving abilities and scientific knowledge. From robotics and sustainable energy solutions to innovative apps and gadgets, these young minds left no stone unturned in displaying their brilliance.

 

Students captivated the audience with their ingenious ideas presented through working models, prototypes, and poster displays. Visitors were astounded by the quality and quantity of work produced in our Atal Tinkering Lab. The highlight of the event was the display of award-winning concepts, notably the SHUDH water purifier, Guru- Gravity Lamp, and COMET software. The research on Type 1 diabetes, Pune’s redevelopment, and innovative ideas such as the Moss box, Mosquito-buzzer, and Aquaponics garnered praise from parents and attendees. Students also engaged the audience with Scratch games and the enchanting tunes of a natural piano. The use of Augmented Reality (AR) and the project blossom display received well-deserved appreciation. This overall experience significantly boosted the confidence of our young innovators and programmers.

 

Students presented their ideas very confidently and answered the queries by the visitors. Principal Pallavi Naik ma’am encouraged students to work on the ideas which are in the pipeline. Mrs. Malati Kalmadi ma’am appreciated the students’ work and was keen to understand the concept behind each project. She was impressed with the efforts put up by the students working on the problems of sea transport. The projects were recently exhibited in the World Robotics Olympiad in Delhi. The success of the exhibition was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the teachers including Manisha Girolkar, Head ATL, Paresh Shinde, in charge ATL, Gauri Joshi and Madhura Deshpande, who served as mentors, along with the dedicated team of student volunteers.

 

Students also had the opportunity to showcase their talents by their mesmerising performances on Indian classical vocal music, western songs, Marathi poem recitation and enactment. The Kathak performance captivated the audience, reminding them of the diversity and beauty of India’s cultural tapestry.

 

The Hunar Haat Exhibition was a true testament to the immense talent, creativity, and innovation that our students possess. It not only celebrated their achievements but also served as an inspiration for future generations. The event demonstrated the power of nurturing young minds and providing them with platforms to showcase their talents, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of India as a nation.
