Objectives of Vocational Training Workshop
1. Skill Development: To give students experience in various vocational fields like automobile maintenance, electrical wiring, baking and horticulture.
2.Vision of Career Education: To prepare students for various career opportunities and equip them with basic skills for future in their life.
Vocational Education Training Workshop for Dr. Kalmadi Shamrao High School Children.
On January 9 and 10, students of Class 10 visited Karigara, a vocational training workshop at Dokalmadi Shamrao High School, Pune.
This initiative aims to introduce students to practical skills and make themselves different professions.
Students were divided into four groups to participate in various trainings such as automobile mechanics, electrical work, cake baking, and gardening. Each group received personalized guidance from an expert trainer who patiently explained concepts and techniques.
In the automobile section, students learned basic scooter maintenance, including oil changes.
Electric – gained practical knowledge of wiring and circuit connections in the electrical group.
In the food or baking section, students happily made cakes, while the horticulture group enthusiastically planted seedlings and learned about organic fertilizers, nourishing plants.
Students actively participated in these activities and shared their experiences with their peers. He expressed his joy in trying new things. He experienced the success of his work, the experience of self-reliance.
Mrs. Jyoti Kadakol, the headmistress of the school, is working hard for the meritorious development of the children. He appreciated the enthusiasm and work shown by the students and highlighted the importance of such hands-on training
Dr. Shobha Joshi and Mr. Chetan encouraged the students in the workshop.
Class teacher Mrs. Shobha Panchangamath played an important role by guiding the students throughout the program. The school’s support staff, including Rahul and Basappa, were responsible for arranging meals and safety of the students during the workshop, dropping them off and picking them up.
The workshop is not only an educational experience but also an opportunity for students to recognize the value of professional skills in their lives. The students expressed in their experiences that this is how they can use the skills they have learned in their future endeavours.
Overall, the workshop was a resounding success, which had a positive impact on students and faculty alike. It is no mistake that it highlights the importance of integrating vocational education in the academic curriculum to make all-round development in students.
