Teachers’ Reading Club Activity

17th August 2023 – Teachers’ Reading Club Activity.
Teachers enrolled for reading club- Madhuri Madam, Ashwini Sarpotdar, Vaishali Chillal, Sonali Deshpande , Gayatri Anaspure, Gayatri Borse, Vrushali Surve, Smita Pradhan, Deepti Kulkarni, Anuradha Kolapkar, Geeta Prasad, Manju Chitale, Sunetra D, Vandana Kulkarni.

This academic year (2023-24) the Reading club was initiated for teachers. In the 1st session of the club, Mrs. Ashwini Sarpotdar, Librarian gave the brief idea about the objectives of the Club and other details. She briefed about the significance of ‘National Reading Day’ being celebrated on 19th June every year.
Ashwini madam also administered the Reading pledge.
She narrated 2 motivational stories from the book ‘Chicken Soup for Women’s Soul’ and had discussion about the same.

 

13th September 2023 – Teachers’ Reading Club Activity.

Teachers present- Ashwini Sarpotdar, Vaishali Chillal, Vandana Kulkarni, Deepti Kulkarni, Gayatri Borse, Sonali Deshpande.

 

Session started with the Reading pledge which was administered by Ashwini Sarpotdar.
Today’s session of reading club was about sharing something worth by teachers on any topic of their choice.

 

Deepti Kulkarni shared historical significance and other information about the Trishund Ganapati Mandir in Pune.

 

Ashwini Sarpotdar read out a poem titled’ Fear’ by Ghalil Gibran.

 

Vaishali Chillal spoke about a marathi book titled ‘ Ravana’ by Sharad Tandale.

 

Vandana Kulkarni read a paragraph from a newspaper article about legend singer Asha Bhosale. Article was published in Maharashtra Times newspaper dated on the occasion of her birthday on 8th September 2023.

 

Gayatri Borse recommended a movie named ‘The Imitation game’ and narrated the story based on it.
The film is about Alan Turing’s life and his role in changing the course of history through his work at Bletchley Park. It’s a story revolving around World War II, a struggle to decode Enigma machine.

 

It was informative and an inspiring session for all of us as we were exposed to many things which we were unaware of.
The reading materials which were shared were displayed on the staff room notice board on the same day.
