Std. XI Orientation 2023

“Welcoming new students is like opening a door to endless possibilities and opportunities.” Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College Pune, had organized an Orientation Programme for students and parents of class XI on 11th August 2023 for Commerce and Arts stream and on 12th August 2023 for Science in two sessions in the college auditorium.

 

The program commenced with a warm welcome to the parents with Lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana. Students gave introduction about the institution in brief.

 

For the first session of orientation programme management member Mr.Kushal Hegde, President of Kannada Sangha graced the occasion. In the next session Mr.Narayan Hegde, Vice President of Kannada Sangha addressed the students. Mr.Ashwin Shashtri, Joint Secretary of Kannada Sangha traced the history of the institution in the third session. In the last orientation session Mrs. Malati Kalmadi Secretary of Kannada Sangha addressed the gathering in the presence of Mrs.Radhika Sharma, Joint Treasurer of Kannada Sangha. Principal Dr. Madhuri Chittewan attended all the four sessions and addressed the students. PTA members Mrs. Suchita Hanmghar, Mr.Prashant Kulkarni, Mr.RajeshVispute graced the respective occasion.

 

The chief guest’s speech struck a perfect balance between practical advice and heartfelt encouragement, leaving the listeners empowered and ready to take on new challenges. Followed by Principal’s speech for the smooth transition of students. A detailed description of the learning parameters and the teaching and learning pedagogy followed in college was shared. “Navigating the path to success together!” The parents were also made aware about the achievements and the milestones. PTA members expressed their deepest gratitude towards college through speech where the college’s commitment to holistic development approach was truly commendable and greatly valued.
The aim of the programme was to familiarize the students and the parents, with the curriculum, rules and regulations and various activities that are conducted in the college for the upcoming session. We also briefed about some of our programmes and initiatives of our college like Gifted Nurturing Programme, Kalam Centre and Life School .Volunteer registration of students for these activities was done outside the auditorium after the programme.

 

Followed by counsellor guidelines where the parents and students were guided about the importance of mental health and to embrace the power of counselling and unlock the doors to their true potential. Introduction of faculty and staff members was done by principal.

 

Providing a much-needed break from the formalities, a delectable spread of refreshments was offered during the orientation for the volunteer participants on both the days, allowing participants to connect and recharge while fuelling their enthusiasm for the program, auditorium staff, college staff and faculty were also included for refreshments. PTA forms were also collected in the auditorium during the programme.

 

The programme ended with a fabulous cultural event which was well received by the students and parents. As we bring this orientation report to a close; let’s remember that the greatest adventures often begin with a single step. Let’s take that step together, confident in our abilities and fuelled by our collective determination.
