Library department of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College organized the session ‘Speak a Book‘ for the students of std. XI and XII on account of ‘Vachan Prerana Diwas’ being celebrated every year on 15th October to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of our former President Late. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

This year, the session was conducted on 14th October 2022 and was based on the theme ‘Parivartan’.

The objective of the session was to give students the platform to express their views about the books that they have read.
Students also expressed how have the books benefited them and have brought transformation or change in their lives.
Total 17 students participated in the activity.

Mrs. Ashwini Sarpotdar , Librarian expressed her views about initiating ‘Readers Club’ in college and also about the Vachan Prerana Diwas activity.

This session was all about getting inspired to read and also inspiring others to read.

The books included were ‘Fahrenheit 451, ‘ Who moved my cheese’, ‘ The Diary of the young Girl Anne Frank’, ‘ Ignited Minds’, ‘ Sapiens’, ‘ Alchemist’, ‘You can Sell’, ‘ Gentally falls the Bakula’, ‘ Naseema’, ‘The 48 Laws of Power’, ‘ Rich Dad Poor Dad’, ‘Old man and the Sea’ and some Marathi books like ‘Batatyachi Chal and Ti Phularani by P.L Deshpande ‘, ‘ Arthat’ by Achyut Godbole, ‘ Shrimad Bhagvatgita’ to name a few.
