Connecting Hearts, Bridging Gaps: GRAM SETU Initiative by KHS Primary

In a heartwarming endeavour to foster empathy, understanding, and social responsibility, students from KHS Primary embarked on a unique initiative called GRAM SETU. This thoughtful program aimed to bridge the gap between urban and rural students, promoting mutual learning and appreciation.

On 11th February, a group of enthusiastic students from KHS Primary visited a Zilla Parishad (ZP) school in Velhe, a rural area in Pune district. The students spent a day interacting with their counterparts from the ZP school, immersing themselves in their lives, and gaining valuable insights into their experiences.

Through engaging conversations, games, and activities, the students from KHS Primary discovered the simple joys and challenges faced by their new friends. They learned about the importance of community, resourcefulness, and resilience in rural life. The ZP school students, in turn, were exposed to the urban students’ perspectives, broadening their understanding of the world beyond their village.

This exchange not only helped break down socio-economic barriers but also instilled a sense of empathy and compassion in the young minds. The students realized that despite their differences, they shared common values, aspirations, and dreams.

The GRAM SETU initiative is a shining example of KHS Primary’s commitment to social responsibility and community outreach. By facilitating such interactions, the school aims to nurture empathetic, open-minded, and socially conscious individuals who will make a positive impact in the world.

As the students from KHS Primary returned to their school, they carried with them unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. The GRAM SETU initiative has truly set the stage for a brighter, more compassionate future.
