Event Overview
The Kalam Centre of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College organized a Donation Drive on 31st January and 2nd February 2026, between 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. The initiative aimed to encourage social responsibility among students by collecting essential food grains for donation to charitable institutions.
Collection Process
- Participants: Students of Classes XI and XII, along with teachers at the Junior College.
- Items Collected:
- Quantity: Approximately 50–60 kilograms of each item was collected over the two days.
Donation
On 2nd February at 4:00 pm, the collected grains were donated to:
- Matoshree Vruddhashram (Old Age Home)
- Orphanage
The donation was carried out by Kalam Centre students accompanied by Ashish Sir and Arati Kulkarni Madam, who guided and supported the drive.
Impact
The drive was a resounding success, reflecting the generosity of students and staff. It not only provided valuable support to the beneficiaries but also instilled a sense of empathy, responsibility, and community service among the participants.
