The first English Intra Kaveri Literati fest was held from 31st July to 2nd August 2024. The idea was conceptualised and executed by the English department Ganeshnagar. It was a celebration of the English language and the rich literary heritage. The objective of the fest was to provide a platform for the students to express their thoughts, ideas and emotions creatively. It provided a unique opportunity for participants to engage with literature in a dynamic and interactive way fostering a deep appreciation for the English language.
The various competitions organized in the fest were:
For Std 5th to 7th.
(a) Spin a yarn which is a group story telling competition. The students captivated the audiences with their prowess in narrative construction and delivery.
(b) Verse Voyage- group poem recitation which brought out the beauty of poetry through voice modulation, rhythm and expression.
(c) Quizzbuzz- This was a lively and engaging test of knowledge and thoroughly enjoyed by the junior group.
The Senior group of Std 8th to Std 10th participated in the following competitions.
(a) Open mic – This platform encouraged a spirit of openness and creativity and gave a chance to participants to express themselves freely. This platform provides an opportunity for students to become confident speakers.
(b) Shark tank- This popular event saw the participants pitching their ideas, products or apps to a panel of experienced judges. This event is a thrilling test of persuasive communication, problem solving and critical thinking. There was a question answer session in which the judges’ posed questions about the products to the participants.
(c) Lit-o-quiz – The quiz for the senior group was close, exciting and had a nail-biting finish.
Both the quizzes had members of all the three-participating school in each of the teams.
The fest saw students of all age groups participating in large numbers. It was a memorable event, a feast for the mind and soul which left everyone inspired and enriched.
