Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School – Secondary School conducted elections on April 15th, 2024, adhering to Sociocracy principles.
Initially, a list of positions was posted on school bulletin boards. Students then nominated peers based on qualities such as confidence, communication skills, decision-making abilities, and leadership qualities. A total of 88 students were shortlisted as candidates. The computer department created unique voter ID numbers, enabling a significant number of students to cast anonymous votes for their chosen candidates across various positions.
The PE department, supported by our cultural head Mrs. Smita Vanarase, played a pivotal role in organizing pre-election campaigns under the guidance of senior teachers. On election day, the Computer department effectively managed a seamless online voting process.
Ultimately, 40 student council members were elected, including the Traffic Management Committee for 2024-25.
These members received their badges during the Investiture Ceremony on April 19th, 2024.
