The core principles that Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Highschool believe in are to build the qualities of sportsmanship, team-spirit & leadership through a joyful learning experience.

In order to bring out the best and nurture the quality of leadership, KHS, Ganeshnagar has been hosting STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE for the past 7 years.

This is a 3-day, interschool, residential conference for students of Grade 9th and 10th. The objective of this conference is to nurture effective leadership skills in young minds.

This year SLC was held on 8th, 9th, and 10th September’23. The main facilitators were Mr. Manish Freeman, Mr. Anand Chabukswar, Ms. Sameena, Ms. Pooja Bhale and Ms. Archana Rao.

The vision to nurture effective leadership skills was accomplished through various workshops facilitated by professional leaders. The life lessons and insights that these impactful leaders shared with the students helped add new perspectives to leadership. The workshops were designed and conducted in a way that aims towards the development of communication skills, team building & socio-emotional aspects of leadership.

The 3-day conference began with ice breaker session which helped in forming new connections and of course… the entertainment night, where student delegates played games, performed skits and dance on cheerful music.

The valedictory session held on the last day gave the student delegates the time to reflect on the 3-day journey and its learning outcomes.

The last interaction of the conference was with a brilliant set of alumni, who shared how this conference has helped them professionally and personally.

The opportunity to meet and interact with youth leaders and students of the same age helped broaden social network and thought process regarding the concept of leadership entirely.
