Know and Grow is a Gender sensitization program conducted for the students of standard 9 every academic year. The facilitators are experts working in the area of sex education for children and they strive to create a safe space for the students to learn about topics often considered a taboo.

Teenage is a time of turbulence, never-ending questions, and insecurities. It can be quite a challenge if faced alone. Therefore, here at KHSG, ‘Know & Grow’ is our way of guiding our students towards a healthy relationship with their minds and bodies. Students of grade 9 attend two-day interactive sessions where they are encouraged to think and ask questions about emotions, sex, sexuality and adolescence.

Day 1 had sessions facilitated by Hina Siddiqui and
Mahrukh Bharucha on sexuality and gender sensitization.

Day 2 included sessions facilitated by Dr. Sonali Talavlikar and Dr. Vivek Billampelly on emotional regulation and physiological changes during puberty.

Additional topics covered during Know and Grow are nutrition, hygiene, and relationship concerns with parents as well as friends.
This program promotes sensitivity and empathy towards other genders, enables acceptance of thoughts and emotions and helps to clarify the stigma and misconceptions connected to sex, sexuality, and gender.
