A seed that was sown all of 26 years ago has grown into a healthy strong tree. Today Balsangeet evam Nritya Mohatsava is an important event to look forward to in Pune’s Annual Cultural Calendar.

Balsangeet evam Nritya Mahotsav provides an excellent platform for budding artists to showcase their talent in the field of Hindustani Classical Music and Dance.
This year the competition was conducted in majestic grandeur.

Balsangeet Evam Nritya Mohatsava celebrated its 26th year, so the organizers decided to dive into the past and bring back the alumni of Balsangeet event and some of the earlier winners to perform again.
This year Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar celebrated the completion of 25 glorious years of this prestigious competition.

The inaugural session called as Shubharambh Katta was held over two days on 13th and 22nd of July.

On 13th July the session began with a mesmerizing violin performance by Guru Swapna Datar, a renowned violinist and her disciples (young artists of Swara Sapna group).
They held the audience enthralled with their scintillating performance.
The second programme of the day was a Kathak performance by Aditi Phadke, an alumnus of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School., Ganeshnagar.

On 22nd July the session began with a performance of Hindustani classical music by Rutuj Ghotge, followed by a solo tabla performance by Ojas Natu. Both the performances were of a high caliber and had the audience spellbound.
After this, Sukanya Gurav gave a beautiful Bharatnattyam performance.

The second session of day2 began with a graceful Kathak performance by Bhakti Zalki. It was a captivating performance and a treat to watch. Next was a classical vocal performance by Sudhanshu Manerikar, an alumnus of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar, who has the unique distinction of receiving the first prize in the Balsangeet Mohatsav for three years. His performance charmed the audience. This session ended on a high note with the multi-talented Yash Soman’s solo tabla performance.
Both these performances provided a perfect end to the musical feast that took place over two days.

Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School,Ganeshnagar hosted ‘Balsangeet evam Nritya Mahotsav 2022-23 (an interschool music and dance competition) from 15th to 22nd December 2022 celebrating its 26th anniversary.

The response was overwhelming as the host school got 152 entries from different schools like Abhinav Vidyalaya English Medium School, Millennium School, Seva Sadan English Medium School, Dr. Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Podar International School, Jnana Prabodhini Prashala etc. Personalities from the music fraternity were invited to judge the competition.

The Prize distribution ceremony was held on 22nd December. The eminent chief guests Padmashree Talyogi Suresh Talwalkar, Pandit Ramdas Pulsule, Raghunandan Panshikar and Vidushi Shama Bhate graced the prize distribution ceremony.
