Spiritual Program on Gurupournima and Aashadhi Ekadashi
On the sacred occasion of Gurupournima and Aashadhi Ekadashi, a spiritually uplifting program was held at Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College on 10th July 2025. The event beautifully blended devotion, creativity, and cultural tradition, celebrating Maharashtra’s spiritual richness and reverence for teachers.
The program was attended by Mrs.Sumathi Srinivasan, Admin Manager, Kannada Sangha and former Principal of KSJC, Dr. Jayashree Bangali, Director. Quality and Benchmarking, Kannada Sangha, 12th standard students and teachers, who participated wholeheartedly.
The sequence of events included:
- Gajar – The program opened with the collective chanting of “Jay Jay Ram Krishna Hari”, filling the atmosphere with spiritual energy.
- Abhang – Traditional devotional songs dedicated to Lord Vithoba and Swami Samarth were sung by a student, reflecting the essence of the Warkari and Guru Shishya tradition.
- Classical Dance – A soulful classical performance brought devotion to life through graceful expression and movement.
- Poem Recitation – A heartfelt poem composed by a student Rohan Phadnis, dedicated to the various departments of the college, was recited by students. Handwritten copies of the poem were respectfully presented to the Heads of the respective departments as a token of gratitude on Gurupurnima.
- Pasaydan – The program concluded with the universal prayer by Sant Dnyaneshwar, invoking peace and blessings for all.
This memorable event was jointly organized by the Kalam Centre, KSJC Cultural Club, and the Cultural Department of the college. Their thoughtful coordination ensured a meaningful and enriching experience for everyone present.
Spiritual programs like these not only honor tradition but also instill timeless values of devotion, respect, and cultural pride in our students.
