On the 10th and 11th of January, 2025, we gathered with mixed emotions in the auditorium of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College to bid farewell to our cherished Class XII students. As their journey with us comes to a close, it was a moment to celebrate their achievements, growth, and the unforgettable memories we’ve shared. The farewell event, thoughtfully organized by Teachers, was a warm send-off filled with good wishes for their studnets.
The farewell was spread across two days, commencing at 4:00 PM for students from the Science, Commerce, and Arts streams.
Day 1: Graced by esteemed guests: Mrs. Malati Kalmadi (Secretary, Kannada Sangha), Smt. Sumathi Shrinivasan (Head Admin, Kannada Sangha), and Dr. Devsena Desai (Associate director,Kaveri Counselling,Empowement and Gifted Center).
Day 2: Addressed by Mr. Narayan Hegde (Vice President, Kannada Sangha).
On both days, Principal Mrs. Shobha Channal addressed the students, sharing words of wisdom and encouragement.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp, accompanied by a serene Saraswati Vandana, sung by a talented student. This set the tone for the program, filling the auditorium with an atmosphere of tranquillity and grace.
Principal Mrs. Shobha Channal motivated the students with her insightful words, urging them to maintain a positive mindset, trust their abilities, and embrace challenges with resilience.
The management members also engaged with students through interactive discussions, emphasizing happiness, focus, and perseverance.
Class XII students shared heartfelt speeches, reminiscing about their journey over the past two years. A special video presentation captured their academic and personal growth, evoking nostalgia and joy.
A vibrant cultural programme, organized by Class XI students, featured Dance with energetic performances that left the audience in awe. The Drama was creative and comedy play. The Orchestra was melodious music that added to the celebratory mood.
The event’s highlight was a surprise teachers’ dance performance, which brought an extra spark of joy and excitement. The applause and cheers from the students reflected their appreciation and admiration for their teachers.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the farewell a grand success.
After the cultural programme, students received a delicious farewell refreshment along with a college badge as a keepsake of their time at the institution. Class XI students who participated in performances and compering were also provided with refreshments.
Post-refreshments, students gathered in the stilt area to enjoy lively DJ music. A creatively designed selfie point, crafted by Class XI students, became a hub for capturing memories and adding a personal touch to the celebrations.
As we bid farewell to the Class XII students, we do so with immense pride and
high hopes for their future. The memories of their time at Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College will remain etched in our hearts, and we are confident they will continue to excel and shine brightly in all their endeavors.
