ANUGRAHA 2024: Embracing the Divine Essence of Lord Ganesha On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi 

The celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi at KSJC was a vibrant and memorable event, marked by devotion, tradition, and community spirit.  

 

Pranpratishtha of Ganpati Bappa: 

On September 7, 2024, the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities began with the Pranpratishtha ceremony of the Ganesh Idol, attended by  the President Mr. Kushal Hegde, Head Admin Mrs. Sumathi Shrinivasan, along with teachers and students. The ceremony was held at 3:30 pm, and the Ganesh idol was welcomed with great reverence. Students added to the festive atmosphere by performing Dhol-Tasha, showcasing their enthusiasm and devotion. All teachers donned traditional attire, further enriching the celebratory mood. 

 

Anugraha Festival Celebrations: 

On September 9, 2024,  KSJC celebrated the Anugraha Festival of Ganesha in grand style. The theme for this year’s festival was ‘Colour,’ representing the symbolic meaning of various colours from different perspectives. Students of Std. XI participated in the celebrations by wearing traditional attire that matched the festival’s color theme. Teachers were also part of the celebration, dressed in Paithani sarees, a traditional outfit from Maharashtra. 

 

Competitions and Activities: 

A range of competitions was organized for students, including Sketches on Sustainable Development Goals, Solo and Group Dance, Song, and Instrumental performances. The student sketches were displayed on the sixth-floor notice board, while Swayam students set up food stalls on the stilts, inaugurated by the Principal Mrs. Shobha Channal. The food stalls, Mehendi, and Tattoo booths received tremendous response from students. 

 

Grand Finale and Prize Distribution: 

The grand finale took place in the college auditorium from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Prizes were awarded by Jayashree Bangali Madam, Director of Quality and Benchmark at Kaveri Group of Institutes, and the Principal Mrs. Shobha Channal. The categories included Song, Dance, Instrumental, and Ramp Walk competitions. Swayam students and Mehendi-Tattoo artists were also felicitated. Students from Astitwa who participated and won in BMCC competitions were honored as well.  

Principal Mrs. Shobha Channal praised all participants and declared the Best Dressed Student and Teacher. According to the Paithani Saree theme, the Best Dressed Teacher prize went to Principal Mrs. Shobha Channal (1st place) and Mrs. Sayali Mokashi (2nd place), as decided by Co-ordinator Mrs. Bindu and the core team. 

 

Conclusion: 

The Ganesh Festival celebration at KSJC was a resounding success, filled with joy, devotion, and unity. The event beautifully showcased Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage and fostered a sense of togetherness among students, and staff. Through meticulous planning and enthusiastic participation, the festival not only connected us with our roots but also highlighted the importance of faith, harmony, and camaraderie.
