The session of Illume, for this month was conducted on 7th February 2024 on Journey of becoming a Chartered Accountant. The session was conducted by CA Rushabh Jamdade, a distinguished professional in the field of chartered accountancy. Currently he is serving as a Partner at Rawlani Jamdade and Associates, LLP, a prestigious CA firm in Pune. He is also a visiting faculty at MIT WPU and a member of the ICAI career counselling committee.

The session began with the process that students will have to undergo while opting for a career as a CA. He very clearly stated the steps starting from CA foundation, article ship and the final stage of CA clearance examination. He also guided students about the subjects and the trainings that they need to undergo for these exams. Along with the fee structure, he also gave clarity about the earnings while a student is preparing for article ship and also scholarships offered by ICAI for the aspiring candidates along with its eligibility criteria.

The session also took the students through various avenues that are open for them once they complete this examination. Mr. Rushabh emphasised the fact that it is not the course only for the toppers or the high ability students but any student with consistent and diligent efforts and perseverance can achieve this goal of becoming a CA.

He also spoke about the other career options that the students can opt if they are stuck at any stage while they are attempting to become CAs. “Appearing for CA is not just an exam but it’s a journey… attempting it with the correct mindset and focus is the key”, said Mr. Rushabh.

The session was a well complied session, which was well received by the students. It was more evident with the Q and A session that went on for almost 20-25 minutes.
