Scientist talk was organized by Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College’s Chemistry Department on 1st of December 2023 in Junior college’s A.V. Room. A very well known scientist from National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, Dr. Shubhangi Umbarkar delivered a very interesting lecture on the topic “Diversity in Chemical Reactions”. Almost 80 students attended the lecture actively.

The event began with the introduction of the guest “Dr. Shubhangi Umbarkar”. Brief introduction was given by a student Gayatri Jalindre from XI B. After introduction as a token of appreciation a sapling was given to invited guest by principal Dr. Madhuri Chittewan.

Dr. Umbarkar with her excellent knowledge and versatile experience delivered the lecture very effectively. Lecture began with the introduction to the National Chemical laboratories across India, there work mission. Proper guidance was also provided to students for the career opportunities in research. Detailed discussion was undertaken by Dr. Umbarkar on following topics

• Water purification by Hollow Fiber Ultrafiltration Membrane.
• Silk – Green Polymer in medical field.
• Dimethyl Ether as alternative fuel option.
• Ecofriendly Ganesh idol immersion process.

Lecture was continued further with question answer session for clarification of different doubts of students. The lecture was truly full of information and motivational also. Event concluded with vote of thanks by Vrunda Sadalgekar XI B student.
