Mock Parliament

Subject- Women’s Reservation Bill 2023 (128th Constitutional Amendment Bill) or Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniya.

On 24/11/2023 from 12 noon to 1pm Political science department activity was conducted in AV room of our college. The activity was conducted in form of Mock Parliament.

In order to understand the proceedings of Loksabha and rules about the parliament, the activity was conducted. The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyal or The Women’s Reservation Bill 2023. 16 students actively participated in the activity. Where each student was given a particular character of Member of Parliament to perform the role of that MP in the activity. Speaker of Loksabha, secretary of Loksabha, Leader of House , Opposition leader of House like wise all major characters were covered. Students spoke and kept the exact side of their role in parliament which was given to them. More of students also wore the same attire which leaders wear in Loksabha.

Major characters like Om Birla , Narendra Modi , Nirmala Sitaraman , Hema Malini , Smriti Irani, Rahul Gandhi, Supriya Sule, Sonia Gandhi , Mahua Moitra etc characters where decided to play. In activity we showed various aspects and elements of Loksabha. Example, introduction of bill by minister in house, point of order raised by concern MPs, Expelling a MP for using unparliamentary language and voting on bill and passing it. Such processes where covered in activity. And accordingly students played it in very good manner. Like Loksabha Seperate Guest Gallery was made to sit for Principal madam and staff members of college. Many students also came to watch the activity. The activity ended with passing the bill and National Anthem. Principal madam expressed her thoughts on the activity and interacted with the students.
