The Kalam Centre initiated the Diwali festive season with a visit to aiming to engage with underprivileged children residing in slums. The activity gathered approximately 30-35 children who participated in the activities organized by Kalam volunteers.
The activity commenced with introductions of the children, teachers, and Kalam volunteers. Six volunteers took turns narrating the significance of different days of the Diwali Festival. The interactive storytelling session captivated the children’s interest and participation. Following the storytelling, a trivia round based on the stories was conducted. Children were also provided with Diyas and paints, encouraged to unleash their creativity. The activities concluded with the distribution of treats to the children. A heartwarming moment ensued as the children, filled with gratitude and happiness, expressed their appreciation before everyone present.
The activity proved to be an unforgettable and impactful experience for both the volunteers and the children.
