It proved to be an enlightening and thought-provoking experience. A major turning point in adolescents’ lives involves the career choice that they make while in high school. This occupational choice is influenced by many factors, including life context, personal aptitudes, and educational attainment. Frequently, it is viewed by family and community as a mere start to workplace readiness; however, this decision plays a major role in establishing youth in a career path that opens as well as closes opportunities. Also, factors like Emotional Intelligence, play a vital role in this whole process.
The session had majorly following take away…
Developing emotional intelligence is a transformative journey that requires self-awareness, empathy, and a commitment to personal growth; and one needs to adjust their bandwidth accordingly and reflect. Being able to filter your thoughts, identify and validate emotions is also very vital. Responding rather than reacting is imperative. We need to learn to prioritize, stop, listen and proceed. It is very important to identify your building blocks and regulate your emotions and Most importantly, to define you !
By cultivating emotional intelligence, we can not only achieve career growth but also foster fulfilling and meaningful experiences in our professional lives.
Post the session, students spoke with them about their career aspirations and how they plan to pursue the same. Session was well received by the students, especially the XI graders.
This session was mediated by our very own Mrs. Devika Shetty ma’am, Trustee, Kannada Sangha. We are grateful to her for creating this opportunity and space for us.
