Parivartan in English Literature and Language, the programme which took place at KSJC on 15th December 2022 by The Department of English.
The programme was all about the evolution in English Literature over the time right from Shakespeare to Rupi Kaur. The beginning of the programme was marked by lighting the lamp by the Principal ma’am which is considered auspicious.
It all started with a small drama which portrayed evolution in the English Language and Literature. How the speaking style has evolved was precisely depicted in the part of Sociolinguistics, how English Language varies to different regions.
Evolution in writing style included authors like William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, Emily Bronte, and O Henry to present authors like Ruskin Bond who have a lasting impact on English literature.
It also included some of the Indian authors like Rabindranath Tagore and Sarojini Naidu. Every work of art by all these authors have a significant place in English Literature and in present day society as it is correctly said that literature is the reflection of our society.
The program ended with a poem ‘Smiling is infectious’ thus, putting a smile on everyone’s face.
