Ayurveda – Ancient To Modern

Department of Biology organized a visit to Regional Ayurveda Institute For Fundamental Research (RAIFR)Pune which is a leading Research Institute in Basic Ayurvedic Sciences Ministry of AYUSH, Govt.of India.

The visit was divided into two parts – in first part general knowledge of Ayurveda since ancient time was effectively explained by Researchers by showing the medicinal plants cultivated there which are collected from various regions in India. They also explained which plant parts are having medicinal properties.

In the second part batch of interested 10 students were allowed to visit research labs like Plant Tissue Culture, Molecular biology, Animal pathology where students got firsthand experience to see the working of high-tech instruments like Laminar AirFlow, Electron microscope, Ultracentrifuge with temperature control, PCR and Electrophoresis machines, etc. Which are used for advanced research in Ayurveda.

Our visit was based on theme Change/Parivartan where students come to know how the modern technology help Ayurveda to reach worldwide.
