Compassion day is celebrated in our college in fond remembrance of our former trustee Late Mr Baburao.
On the occasion of Compassion Day, the sessions were planned for helpers and lab assistants, this time at Junior College.
Introduction
Compassion Day, organized by college counsellors, was a heartfelt initiative aimed at showing appreciation for the dedicated helpers who play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of the college. It was a series of sessions that went on across weeks.
Session 1 :
First we started with Heartfulness Meditation. The session had following objectives –
- Relax from daily hustles
- Calm down from anxiety
- Balance your work-life
These 1hour sessions over 3 days, were facilitated by Mrs. Shobha Channal, Principal ma’am, who is a trainer herself.
Session 2 :
Another session was designed to provide valuable guidance on Financial Management. Keeping in mind the changes in lifestyle, the demands of life, learning to manage our finances is very imperative. Also, little education about the options for investing, and at the same time getting acquainted with the various ways to maximise the savings is very crucial, so that they are financially prepared for adversities, if any.
The session revolved around the topics like, Budgeting and Expense Tracking; Savings and Emergency Funds; Investment Options and Retirement Planning, etc.
The facilitator, Mrs. Soni Pradhan, very skilfully navigated the entire session, giving day to day examples, explaining the various ways by which our earnings can be invested in the right options that are available in the market (e.g. savings schemes, RD, FD, SIP, Mutual funds) to achieve financial freedom. The session was interactive and all the participants found it very informative and insightful.
Session 3 :
– Heartwarming Gesture by College Teachers
In the second session teachers took part in celebrating compassion day for helpers. On this special day, teachers including Principal of the college took part in preparing and personally serving lunch to the invaluable helpers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. What made this occasion even more touching was that the teachers had dedicated their time and effort to prepare the entire meal with their own hands, showcasing their sincere commitment to expressing gratitude. This act of service was a powerful demonstration of compassion which fostered a sense of unity and highlighted the value of every role within the institution.
It served as a reminder that acts of compassion can create a more inclusive and harmonious community.
Conclusion: Compassion Day was a resounding success, providing invaluable guidance to college helpers. It demonstrated the college’s commitment to the well-being of its support staff and highlighted the importance of compassion and support in the workplace. Compassion Day also warmed their hearts, reinforcing the importance of kindness and empathy in our community.
