Resource Person: Mr. Dhruvag Hingmire, Architect
A session was organized for gifted students of KHS School and Junior College which was facilitated by Mr. Dhruvang Hingmire, Architect, a natural builder and alumnus of KHS. He is practicing sustainable designs of homes using natural and local materials.
His session revolved around an interesting topic ‘Sustainability : meeting needs without compromising’.
The session started with his inspirations in life, when the word sustainability was very new. He quoted so many stories while working in villages/ rural areas, that touched his heart and blew his mind and changed his perspective of looking towards needs. Very interestingly he put forth the examples of connection between nature and the architecture. He emphasized on wholistic approach than being specific about some specializations; because it helps one define oneself better.
His passion for his work was seen through all the architectural creations that he was showing, he was elaborating on the journey of pushing ones’ self to be better and better every time. He also mentioned about the failures being an integral part pf his journey. He always managed with a motive of being better and better by reshaping him for making his work impactful through the team of people with whom he is working currently and also the people whom you meet in this journey.
He also underlined that however gifted one is, there is no alternative to hard work and peoples’ connect. Sustainability is a sliding scale, so we should be able to accommodate things that life throws at us.
The session was very inspiring and an enriching one.
