Summary
As a part of Aastha, the counseling cell conducted a session on Media and Internet Addiction for students of Class XI. The session, facilitated by Smita Pradhan and Shounak Gokhale, KSJC counselors, focused on understanding how media affects us individually and exploring healthy and unhealthy media habits.
This discussion oriented session had pointers such as ‘How much time of our lives does media take, what are the direct and indirect effects of media on individuals, what are the unhealthy media habits and how they differ from healthy habits, how can we move away from unhealthy habits eventually discussing how we can tackle the challenge of media addiction. Students actively participated in the discussion and came up with interesting insights. Through detailed discussions we could speak about virtual world, the pseudo self, self image, etc. Students shared positive feedback after the session.
