The Session was arranged for students of Std. XI and XII on the topic ‘Careers in Management’ facilitated by Mr. Gaurav Suravase, faculty at IMS Training Institute of Management, Pune.

Mr. Gaurav Suravase initiated the session with the meaning of the word ‘Management’ and the scope within.
Mr. Gaurav gave an overview of the various under graduation and post graduation courses in Management and different career avenues.
Students were also made aware of the changing trends and patterns in the field of management and its scope at the national and International level.

He advised students about choosing the career based on a perfect blend of 3 important factors such as student’s Interest area, scope for the field in terms of earnings, and the ability &skills student possesses.
He spoke about top 10 B-Schools in the country, the courses they offer, the course fees, the syllabus, their entrance exams for getting admission, topics covered for the entrance exams, the placements by such institutes and many more.

Students were briefed about various branches of management such as Human Resource, Finance, IT, Marketing, digital marketing, operations, international business & consultancy and many more.
He also emphasized on various managerial skills needed for the job.

He also highlighted the internships and job opportunities one can have and their different job roles in various sectors such as education, industrial sector, enterprises, companies, insurance, financial firms, investments, banking, pharmaceuticals, health care services, rural engagement programs and foreign exchange programs.
The session ended by question – answers and was appreciated by students.
