Date- 4th July, 2026
Facilitators- In-House
Objectives –
A workshop on “Approaching Exams and Managing Time for Gifted Students” was conducted to equip students with practical strategies for managing their time effectively during the examination period.
Three interactive sessions facilitated by in-house facilitators focused on overcoming overwhelm, recognizing time robbers, estimating time, and developing effective time management skills.
Mrs. Smita Pradhan covered an important topic: Overwhelm. Students shared that the factors making them feel overwhelmed were procrastination, a vast syllabus, and difficulty in maintaining a study schedule. Mrs. Smita emphasized that intelligence and organization are different qualities and that success depends not only on one’s abilities but also on effective planning and consistent execution. She encouraged students to plan their study routine, stay energized, follow a realistic schedule, manage their time efficiently, set priorities, and maintain clarity of thought while preparing for examinations.
The second session on Time Robbers and Time Management was conducted by Mrs. Shweta Karandikar. She initiated the discussion by exploring why some individuals manage their time more effectively than others. Students were introduced to the concept of three categories of time robbers: Internal, External, and Digital. Students actively participated in an activity where they listed their daily activities and categorized them into three groups: activities that are important to continue, activities that should be moderated, and activities that should be avoided. This reflective exercise enabled them to evaluate their daily routines and identify opportunities for better time management.
In the concluding activity, each student prepared a personalized action plan by identifying the time robber they intended to address and outlining how they would utilize the time saved for productive activities, particularly for effective exam preparation and personal development.
Mrs. Devika Deshpande began the session on Time Estimation by emphasizing the importance of slowing down when feeling overwhelmed, as it helps improve focus and decision-making. The session included a few engaging one-minute games to demonstrate how our perception of time can differ from reality.
She highlighted that estimating the time required for activities is often challenging and that accurate time estimation depends on effective prioritization, planning, and making realistic assumptions. Participants were introduced to the KASA time management app as a tool to support better planning and productivity.
The session concluded with practical steps to “trick the brain” into improving focus, building productive habits, and making more realistic time estimates for daily tasks.
After these sessions, subject expert teachers from Dr. Kalamadi Shamarao Junior College solved the doubts of the students. They spoke about how to balance Board studies and competitive exams. The teachers involved were: Physics – Mr. Satyajeet Jagtap, Chemistry – Mrs. Sayali Mokashi, and Maths – Mrs. Rucha Sahastrabudhe.
