Event: Street Play on SDGs

Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College organised a series of street plays based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the activity Kalangan. This event was conducted from 27 January to 4 February, 2026 with the active participation of students from different divisions.

4 February: Divisions E, F
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations. They aim to ensure social, economic, and environmental well-being for all. These goals focus on important issues such as quality education, gender equality, clean water, good health, environmental protection, and sustainable living.
The class teachers encouraged their students to perform the street play as per the SDG allotted to their class.
Students performed the street plays with great enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence. Through dialogues and meaningful messages, they successfully highlighted various SDG goals. The performances created awareness and encouraged the audience to think about their responsibility towards society and the environment.
Aim of the Activity
The main aim of this activity was to spread awareness about the SDG goals and to make students understand the importance of sustainable development through an engaging and impactful medium like street theatre.
Conclusion
The street play activity was highly successful and informative. It not only enhanced students’ social awareness and teamwork, but also helped them develop communication and performance skills. Principal, Mrs. Shobha Channal appreciated the efforts of all participating students and teachers for making this initiative meaningful and effective.
