About the Activity

An interactive session was conducted by Mrs. Ashwini Sarpotdar, Librarian – KSJC, focusing on the art of critical interpretation through storytelling. Teachers were divided into five collaborative groups for the activity.

To create an immersive and engaging atmosphere, the session began with background music played in a dimly lit room. As the music stopped and the lights turned on, teachers were pleasantly surprised to see the library staff — Mrs. Ashwini Sarpotdar, Librarian and Mr. Nitin Sir, Library Assistant dressed in specially designed T-shirts that read “Amhi Sare Betal”. This unique and creative element added excitement and drew immediate attention to the theme of the session.

Mrs. Sarpotdar then narrated three selected tales from Vikram and Betal. After each story, the intriguing question posed by Betal to King Vikramaditya was discussed among the groups. Teachers shared diverse and innovative viewpoints, demonstrating creative reasoning and insightful analysis.

Additionally, teachers examined the moral aspects of each story and reflected on their practical applications in personal and professional life.

Learning Outcomes

  • Teachers connected deeply with the stories and participated enthusiastically.
  • The activity enhanced critical thinking and encouraged independent problem-solving.
  • Communication and oratory skills were effectively promoted.
  • Group-based discussions fostered collaboration and helped derive relevant moral values from the tales.
