Session on Mindfulness

Being Mindful means being aware of your thoughts, emotions, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens and also, how you’re feeling both physically and mentally. Mindfulness is a form of meditation with an important aspect to it—acceptance… It was Mr Vipul Shaha from Just Being Centre who facilitated the session. He has a decade of experience in the field of education as an environmental educator, counsellor, coach, mentor, facilitator, curriculum designer, researcher and a teacher trainer.

 

A regular Mindfulness practice can lead to better self-control, objectivity, affect tolerance, enhanced flexibility, equanimity, improved concentration and mental clarity, emotional intelligence and the ability to relate to others.

 

This session was planned for the XI graders from Commerce and Arts streams.
The session was able to reach the students as a lot of discussion and sharing happened about the addiction, exposure to media and also the conflict with parents. The session turned out to be insightful.
