Date: – 29th May 2021, Saturday
REPORT : Out of My comfort zone by Siddharth Padhye
The session was organized for the Academically Gifted Students on 29th May at 2.00 pm through zoom on “Out of my Comfort Zone”. It was facilitated by Mr. Siddharth Padhye who is an engineer turned sports media professional from the field of live sports television production and programming. Students found it interesting as they got to know that he completed his engineering, got placed in a company and then left it, which was a very conscious decision. He also shared his experiences of extreme anxiety and panic attacks and how he managed to deal with them.
During the session, he shared a lot of practical approaches to look at life and keep going. He mentioned that life is challenging but one needs to find the answers from within. It will take time but it will come to you. Doesn’t matter if we fail, one should not have any regrets. The courage always comes from within but one also needs to be ready for it. One must never lose hope and ” Hope” is a choice.
After this the session was open for Question and Answers. Students wanted to know how he managed to ‘ditch’ engineering and how his parents reacted to it. They also found it relatable as he quoted many examples from football and the movies and his own life. The session made students realize that they should never give up. Even if we fail, one should fail in a beautiful way. We should rather always focus on what actually keeps us safe. Take some time to think about what you actually want to do in life.
