Syllabus

Rules regarding choice of subjects for First Year. The student joining the First Year B.A. Course must choose six subjects with adherence to the following rules:

  1. The student can offer not more than one subject from a group.
  2. Subject in Group “A” is compulsory.
  3. The student has to take up at least one language from Group “B” or Group “C” or Group ‘‘J’’.
  4. The student may choose one more subject from Group “B” or Group “C” subject to (i) above.
  5. The student may choose “Optional English” from Group “J'' alone or in combinations with one language from either Group “B” or Group “C”.
  6. A student desiring to offer English (Special) at SY BA must pick Optional English from Group J.

The following groups of subjects are available in the college

  1. Group A-Compulsory English
  2. Group B-Marathi /French /German
  3. Group C-Hindi/ Sanskrit
  4. Group D-Economics
  5. Group E-Politics
  6. Group F-History
  7. Group G-Geography
  8. Group H-Psychology
  9. Group I-History of Civilization
  10. Group J-Optional English

    The student studying for the B.A. (Special) Degree shall study the following subjects in the Second Year:

  • (1) Compulsory English.
  • (2-4) one paper each at General level of the three subjects chosen out of the five subjects offered in the First year.
  • (5-6) two papers at Special level of one subject chosen as a Special Subject out of the three subjects offered at General level.

    The student studying for the B.A. (Special) Degree shall study the following subjects in the Third Year:

  • (1) Compulsory English.
  • (2-4) One Paper each at General Level of the three subjects offered in the Second Year.
  • (5-6) Two Papers at the Special level of the subject chosen as a Special Subject in the Second Year.
