‘World Mental Health Day‘
10th October, 2018
World Mental Health Day (10th October) is a day observed globally for mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with its members and contacts in more than 150 countries. This day, each October, thousands of supporters worldwide come together to celebrate and to bring attention to mental illness and its major effects on peoples’ life. The World Health Organisation has given the theme of this year’s programme as ‘Young People and Mental Health in the Changing World’.
On the occasion, this year the students and staff members of Kaveri College of Arts, Commerce and Science celebrated the Day by conducting a ‘Workshop on Stress Management’. The workshop had many stress bursting activities like Stress Burster, Flash Cards, Happiest Memory Game, Mimic the Conductor and Sub-modality Shift Exercise.
Many students and teachers from all the faculties participated and enjoyed the activities that were planned and executed entirely by the students of Bachelor of Arts.
