Grand Parents Day
We celebrated the Grandparents’ Day For Std I and II on the 29th of Nov’17 in our school. Aimed at filling the gap of the very human connection across generations and having fun is a foundation for the Grandparents event. The event witnessed heart warming scenes of children welcoming their grandparents gifting them self made greeting and showing them around the school, introducing them proudly to their teachers.
Principal Mrs. Jyothi Kadkol addressed the gathering during a program which comprised of contemporary dance they learnt in their Enhanced Learning Activity put up by the children of Std II. The children of Std I sang “ Tu Buddhi De…” song together.
Some of the children visited to the Old Age Home “ Matoshree “ , along with four teachers. There they sang “ Tu Buddhi De… “ song in front of them. They also interact with Aajis and Aajobas.
Some of the grandparents shared their experiences. The zest of that is – Today with the nuclear family system we see children have lost their love for grandparents and the grandparents quest to see their grandchildren.
As the grandparents and teachers interacted over refreshments, the happiness and thankfulness of the grandparents for this invitation to have a glimpse of their grandchildren in the school, was quite evident.
Their participation is the first thing that can lead to many other bigger steps like building closer bonds, affirming values in children to face challenges in this world.
Finally, the grandparents some of whom had travelled to the city especially to attend the event, bade a good bye, taking the promise of more such events in the future.
